Parent Governor
We currently have a vacancy on the College’s governing board for a Parent Governor. To apply for this role, you must be a parent or carer of a child at this school on the date that applications close which is 28 November 2025.
A school’s governing board is responsible for providing strategic leadership and holding leaders to account for the educational and financial performance of the school. Governors ensure that resources are well managed and that the College fulfils its statutory duties.
A governor at The Spires College should have:
- a strong commitment to the continuous improvement of the College to enable the very best outcomes for all students, and
- good inter-personal skills, curiosity, and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
We are currently seeking parent governors who have skills and experience in Education, Safeguarding, Finance, HR or in premises management. However, a keen interest and willingness to learn are the most important attributes we are looking for. Training and support will be available to help you develop into your role and commitment is by far the most important quality we require, so please do not let a lack of experience in the above areas deter you from applying.
Further information and the application form can be found here: The Spires College - Governance
Please also refer to the frequently asked questions below as this should give you further clarity on the role. There is also a list of disqualification criteria.
