Homework
Homework refers to tasks that are completed outside of timetabled lessons. It contains an element of independent study in that it is not, usually, directly supervised by a teacher. Not all homework is done at home; in fact, for some students who find it difficult to work at home, or for some tasks which may require resources (books, software or equipment) more readily available at College, it is necessary or desirable to carry out the task in College.
Homework is set throughout the school and plays an important part in the learning process. We do not set homework for the sake of it, believing that it must be purposeful and help to consolidate learning and develop essential study skills.
All homework tasks should be recorded in students’ planners so that students and parents can see what homework needs completing and organise their time accordingly.
Please see the attachment below for details of online platforms used for homework.
Additional information regarding Google Classroom
Some students may experience an issue logging in to Google Classroom on personal devices. This is usually because the device is already logged in to their personal Google account. It is not possible to log in to more than one Google account at the same time on one device.
The way to work around this is to use an "Incognito" (Chrome) or "In private" (Edge) tab on the browser. This is accessed by clicking the 3 dots in the top right of the browser screen.
Students using a Mac Book and/or Safari may need to download a different browser, such as Chrome or Edge as Google Classroom and Safari are not particularly compatible.
Students using a Chromebook can add a 'School Account'. This will allow them to use both their personal and school Google account on one device.
Other issues may also occur if students have double-barreled names.
Students who have tried the above solutions but are still experiencing issues should see our IT Technicians in room 2402.
