Early Help Provision

Early help is not a specific service or team but a means of giving support to young people and their families when problems first emerge. Early help services often involve parents, young people, or whole families, but their focus is to improve outcomes for the young person. Early help is a service which may be utilised for a variety of reasons, from a young person displaying risk taking behaviours to a family who are living in challenging circumstances. The aim is to support the family and the young person to improve their quality of life, enabling them to perform better at school and support their mental health. Education will usually work alongside a range of other agencies to co-ordinate Early Help to ensure that young people and their families get the right support at the right time.
